Transitional Kindergarten Exploration

Motion & Machines

This class will begin with a study of the basics of all life - atoms and molecules. With this knowledge, students will then journey through simple chemicals, laws of motion, energy, electricity and magnetism. Students will have fun creating exciting projects such as their own bouncy ball, a solar oven and a lava lamp!

Consumer Math (Grades 5th-8th)

This practical money math class will be taught each week using real-life scenarios, as well as engaging activities. Topics included will be: banking, shopping percentages, investing, credit cards, and budgeting. A culminating project will be assigned where each student plans a trip, researches costs, and creates a travel budget.

Creative Art

Learn how to create colors using primary colors (red, yellow, blue), white and black and explore color relationships.
Gain the knowledge of gradations of colors which are used to create illumi-nation for forming three– dimensionality.

Art History & Appreciation (4th-8th)

This class is all about finding fun new ways to support young artists and to get students who are new to art history super excited about the fascinating personalities of the artists and all of the interesting art out there for us to discover and explore.

Beginning Band (3rd-12th)

*Instrument Rental not included Instructor has a limited number of instruments available for rent for a nominal fee.(Band stands will be available for sale on the first day for those who need one)
Students will learn how to care for their instrument and receive instruction in band method as well as music theory. During each class students will play all the previously assigned material together and then learn new material to take home to practice all week. Minimum of 15 students required to run the class.

Coding Warriors (5th-8th)

This course is an introduction to software programming. The students will get a chance to work with an Adruino board to program components that they will wire onto the board. They will work in teams to collaborate, organize and solve their project goals. The class will focus on the fundamentals of coding software such as starting with pseudo code, using algorithms, and practice debugging skills. Students will be programming in the Javascript language to control their hardware and will be asked to solve class challenge projects.

Students who express an interest in computers will find this class exciting. There may be some small assignments they may be asked to do at home, but most of the work is done in class on the computer.

PodPi (1st-4th)

This course is an introduction to software programming for younger students. The students will work in teams to code specifics functions into the Arduino board. The focus of the class will be to slowly introduce the fundamentals of software programming. They will be able to relate the programming concepts to real world examples and learn the engineering processes of problem solving. They will work to collaborate, organize and solve their project goals. They will be programming in the Javascript language to control their hardware and will be asked to solve class challenge projects designed at their level.

Our focus on this class is to introduce programming to young students in a fun and non-intimidating way. They will quickly realize that anyone can learn to program as long as they are motivated and have some patience.

Glee Club Choir (1st-8th)

This is a fun, engaging choir in a non-intimidating environment led by professional music director Eric Rainwater. No experience is necessary, just a good attitude and willingness to sing. ​ Students will learn proper vocal warm-up techniques, harmony singing and develop pitch and group singing. Popular, modern, contemporary and all time classic songs will be explored. Students will be exposed to development of music fundamentals including rhythm, timing and aural skills which will​ assist them with future musical endeavors. An opportunity to perform to family and friends will be provided.​

Beginning Crochet

IntelliBricks Lego® Robotics and Engineering

Investigate fundamental concepts in robotics, programming and mechanical engineering by building and manipulating

This will be an experiment-based class covering the following topics: weather, oceans, and minerals. The experiment, as well as other activities will be completed during class time. A short reading assignment with corresponding questions will be sent home each week for homework.

In this class, we will be learning about five different ecosystems: rainforest, desert, African grasslands, forest, and Death Valley. In each unit, we will learn what makes each ecosystem unique, as well as the wildlife that makes that habitat their home. There will be lots of hands-on activities in the form of arts and crafts, role play, and story-telling.

Plus, poetry is plain fun!

Writing Tools Workshop (5th-8th)

Students will learn the basic tools for writing. Assignments will give them a chance to practice various kinds of writing, including creative, expository, narrative, and persuasive. With each unit, they’ll learn new skills, apply them to their current writing project, and edit and revise the composition several times. By the end of each unit—after brainstorming, writing, editing, and revising—they’ll have a polished paper to be proud of!

Our Lil Dragons martial arts classes allow children ages 5 and above to experience the excitement of martial arts in a non-intimidating, fun class that emphasizes the development of focus, respect and teamwork while learning cool karate moves and skills. Each 30 minute class helps young martial artists to build confidence in themselves through a reward based striping system.

Ballet
Ballet is the technical foundation of all forms of dance. Dancers will continue to understand the discipline of ballet as an art form, and learn grace and poise through barre exercises, turns, and choreography. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, poise, flexibility, strength and posture. Students will also learn dance etiquette.

Jazz
Dancers will continue to build on jazz basics while learning more about the many styles of jazz. Emphasis will be placed on muscle isolations, balance, turns, body coordination, flexibility and choreography.

Hip Hop
This class is an edgy jazz class that combines rhythm, coordination, quickness, urban/street and pop style choreography. Attitude and confidence are just as important as the technique. Hip hop is a very energetic form of dancing. It is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities.
